Overview

We are a specialist rehabilitation and care service supporting people who have suffered a stroke or other neurological condition or are advanced in years.

We assist with everyday activities within the home and enable Service Users to “get out” and enjoy opportunities within their community.

The role is in operation 365 days per year and options of work pattern are available.

We are planning to interview during the week beginning 06/01/25.

 

Requirements

  1.  Trustworthy / Integrity
  2.  Previous experience in care/rehabilitation preferred but not essential
  3.  Driver with full UK driving licence and own vehicle
  4.  Good communication and teamwork skills

We are looking for applicants with a natural caring approach to life, this is our focus and helps to achieve the best outcome for clients. Prior to being offered this position, it will be essential to have a satisfactory DBS and references.

 

Job Description

  • With guidance, support, and supervision from the CLD, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the Senior Care Worker- Rehabilitation Assistant.
  • · To assist those who have suffered a stroke / neurological condition / elderly to participate in activities that they need to or want to do.
  •  To assist individuals in undertaking personal activities of daily living.
  •  To assist with domestic activities of daily living.
  •  To assist individuals with the administration of medication.
  •  To assist with individuals’ mobility indoors (and possibly outdoors)
  •  To enable/support the individual to access resources and participate within the community e.g. shopping, attendance at medical appointments. This may necessitate driving individuals in your car with the necessary insurance.
  •  To support individuals with self-management e.g. orientation tasks e.g. maintaining a diary.
  •  To practice with elements of stroke/neuro specialist therapy to improve aspects of movement, balance and therefore function.
  •  To assist the therapist with undertaking therapy sessions.
  •  To support families and carers.
  •  To undertake other duties commensurate with this role.

 

Support

On-going support is provided by the CLD, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the Senior Care Worker- Rehabilitation Assistant.
