Overview

The IT Manager at PDD is a vital, hands-on role responsible for all aspects of IT within our global, multi-location consultancy. This role demands a balance of day-to-day troubleshooting and strategic IT planning to support and advance PDD’s technical infrastructure. As the sole IT lead, the ideal candidate will bring robust technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proactive vision to maintain seamless IT services across our operations in London, Shanghai, and Hopkinton MA.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Infrastructure Management & Support:

· Maintain and ensure high availability of IT infrastructure across all global sites.

· Manage and support key hardware systems, including Hyper-V hosts, network switches, firewalls, and access points.

· Provide comprehensive support for software solutions, covering Windows Server, Active Directory, enterprise applications, and end-user systems.

 

Helpdesk & User Support:

· Deliver approachable, responsive helpdesk services to both on-site and remote users.

· Respond promptly to inquiries, utilizing face-to-face, phone, and messaging platforms for efficient troubleshooting.

 

IT Security & Compliance:

· Implement and maintain IT security best practices, ensuring timely patching and compliance with security standards.

· Proactively manage vulnerabilities and security alerts to safeguard PDD’s information assets.

 

Vendor Management:

· Coordinate with third-party suppliers on renewals, new purchases, and cost-effective IT solutions in line with business needs.

· Track and manage software renewals and maintenance agreements proactively.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Planning:

· Identify and propose improvements to current processes, optimizing systems and end-user applications for enhanced efficiency.

· Partner with senior management to assess IT estate and lead projects to align IT capabilities with organizational growth and innovation.

 

Project Management:

· Plan, scope, and execute IT projects, managing the full project lifecycle from approvals to rollout.

· Implement change management for impactful IT updates, involving stakeholders and ensuring smooth transitions.

 

Documentation & Policy Adherence:

· Maintain up-to-date documentation for all IT systems, processes, and policies.

· Ensure onboarding and offboarding procedures are completed in accordance with PDD’s IT policies and standards.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Experience.

Essential:

· Expertise in managing Windows servers across a multi-site Active Directory domain.

· Strong knowledge of Azure Entra ID (SSO/SAML), including MFA & Conditional Access.

· Proficiency in Office 365, Exchange Online, Hyper-V, and network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs).

· Experience with security protocols and tools like SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Mimecast, and Veeam Backup.

· Basic proficiency in PowerShell, scripting, or automation.

 

Preferred:

· Familiarity with Salesforce administration, network hardware (e.g., Meraki, Unifi), and endpoint security (e.g., SentinelOne, Duo).

· Experience supporting CAD applications (e.g., Solidworks) and non-Microsoft OS (e.g., Linux, Docker, Mac OSX).

· Knowledge of SaaS applications (e.g., DocuSign, Mural), website hosting (e.g., WordPress), and cloud storage (e.g., Wasabi).

Soft Skills & Experience.

 

Minimum:

  • Self-motivated, autonomous work ethic with a flexible approach to changing priorities.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

 

Preferred:

Prior experience in an ISO-certified environment with IT audit participation.

Experience:

  • Information Technology: 5 years (preferred).
