We have an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to join our busy team in Cannock Outpatients.

We have a 28-roomed multi-specialised department, which is open Monday to Friday, 8-6.

We have 22.5 hours per week available, working flexibly between Monday and Friday.

Main duties of the job

Excellent communication skills are essential, as well as a caring compassionate personality and a desire to help others.

You will be dealing with members of the public on a daily basis so a cheerful helpful disposition would be an advantage.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Booking patients in and out of the department.
  • Making further appointments/ adding to waiting lists as required.
  • Completing back office functions / administrative duties when needed.
  • Dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries.
  • Helping colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Liaising with Consultants and other staff.

  • Previous experience of a receptionist role in an NHS setting.
Desirable criteria
  • previous experience as a receptionist in any role.
