In Telford/Shropshire we are proud to be at the front line of integrated multi-agency work with neurodiverse (ND) children and their families.

This exciting new role will give you the opportunity to be part of our work alongside a range of professionals with ND expertise.

You will develop positive relationships with colleagues in Education, children and their families to ensure we understand and meet the challenges they face when children have additional needs.

If you are someone that is passionate about Neurodiversity and what the Team is setting out to achieve then we want to hear from you.

You will offer reviews to Young People who have a diagnosis of ADHD. Offer support to Young People and their families who are awaiting specialised assessment for ADHD and ASC. Support and deliver Group Workshops, and complete School Observations.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for supporting the Neurodevelopmental pathway with an agreed caseload, as delegated by and under the supervision of clinical supervisor or Lead Clinician.
  • Use relevant tools to conduct assessments of focus behaviours, and record findings. Provide input to the analysis of findings, using evidence to identify the functions of behaviour, and share findings with wider stakeholders.
  • Provide input to the development of evidence-based interventions, containing proactive strategies to enhance quality of life, active and reactive strategies to manage situations effectively.
  • Continue to record and analyse behaviours of concern and monitor the outcomes of support plans, using data including quality of life indicators.
  • Support families, carers and other stakeholders to create consistent and supportive environments, with opportunities for informed choice, independence and the development of relationships
  • Support families, carers and other stakeholders to understand behaviours and their communicative functions.
  • Support families, carers and other stakeholders to understand the work undertaken by the Neurodevelopmental Team and identify the skills needed to develop the role.
  • To identify risks through the use of appropriate assessments and act immediately if the situation requires consultation with the clinical supervisor or Lead Clinician.

  • Equivalent Experience General standard of education GCSE or equivalent – Including Mathematics and English.
  • Experience working with young people and families with ADHD or ASC in a paid or voluntary capacity.
